Shopping in Tallinn Tallinn has lately been taken by a craze for department stores, every month another huge supermarket is opened or some older one expanded (for example Järve Selver and Kristiine Centre). When driving around in a car you'll see invitations on every corner, luring shoppers in every possible way.
One can shop from early morning till late in the evening, the Finnish Prisma grocery-store chains (Rocca-al-Mare, Kristiine centre, and Mustamäe shopping centre) are open daily from 8 to 23, the Estonian Selvers (at Järve, Merimetsa, Lasnamäe, Torupilli) from 10 to 22. In central town Tallinna Kaubamaja and Stockmann are still favourable shopping places, they are open until 9 in the evening. Many stores and shops, boutiques and art shops are of course in the Old Town. These shops are usually open on weekdays from 10 to 19 and on Saturdays from 10 to 17. At night you can buy food and drinks from Westman foodstore (pärnu Road 36), a few steps from there, on the corner of Sakala Street, is the 24-hour shop Sakala.
