Anton Hansen Tammsaare Memorial Museum
Tammsaare (1878-1940) is a classic author of Estonian literature, and when you visit his onetime home in Kadriorg, you will find out more about this writer that is so important to Estonians. The Tammsaare Museum underwent a modernization recently and a new permanent exhibition is now open. The museum includes an authentic display of the writer’s 5-room apartment, where he lived in 1932-1940. Tammsaare’s most important work is the 5-volume Truth and Justice.
Tammsaare (1878-1940) on virolainen kirjallisuusklassikko ja käydessänne hänen entisessä kodissaan Kadriorgissa, saatte lisätietoja tästä virolaisille niin tärkeästä kirjailijasta. Tammsaaren museo uudistettiin vähän aikaa sitten ja siihen on avattu uusi moderni pysyvä näyttely. Museo näyttää myös alkuperäisessä muodossaan kirjailijan 5 huoneen huoneiston, jossa hän asui 1932-1940. Tammsaaren pääteos on 5-osainen ”Totuus ja oikeus”.

Estonian History Museum
New permanent exhibition about Estonia’s early history. The building dates from 1410 and was originally the home of the Great Guild (Merchants’ guild). It is one of the finest examples of civil architecture in Tallinn. Also includes the Coin Room.

Museo sijaitsee kauppiaiden eli Suurkillan historiallisessa rakennuksessa. Uusi pysyvä Viron varhaishistorian näyttely. Historiallisessa museossa avattiin äskettäin myös kolikkonäyttely.

The Estonian Museum of Architecture
The Rotermann Salt Store is one of the grandest limestone buildings in the Rotermanni quarter of Tallinn, built in 1908 and renovated in 1995-1996. Since 1996 The Architecture Museum of Estonia is situated here.
Rotermannin Suolavarasto on komeimpia dolomiittikivirakennuksia Tallinnan Rotermannin kaupunginosassa. Se on rakennettu 1908 ja peruskorjattu 1995-96. Vuodesta 1996 lähtien talossa sijaitsee Viron rakennustaiteen museo.

The museum in the Bank of Estonia (1919) building offers an overview of the monetary history of Estonia. Souvenir coins are also sold. Permanent exhibition.

Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design
The museum is located in the old town of Tallinn in a 17th century storehouse. The museum’s collection includes over 13 000 exhibits – works of Estonian textile art, ceramics, porcelain, leather, glass, jewellery, metalwork, furniture and product design.

Museo sijaitsee Tallinnan vanhassa kaupungissa 1600-luvun varastorakennuksessa. Museon kokoelmissa on yli 13 000 esinettä, joihin kuuluu tekstiilejä, keramiikkaa, posliinia, nahkaa, lasia, koruja, metallitöitä, huonekaluja ja muotoiltuja käyttöesineitä.

The Energy Centre is the perfect entertainment for children—museums usually prohibit visitors from touching the exhibits and making much noise; in the energy centre, the opposite is true. You are encouraged to hang here, climb there, touch this, push that. For group guided tours, call beforehand.

The Open Air Museum presents a unique collection of old Estonian buildings on a picturesque 79-hectare forest park by seaside. Farm buildings, windmills and water mills from various periods and regions have been brought together here. Folk holidays are celebrated in traditional style at the museum, and often folk dance and music can be enjoyed here. An ideal place to take a picnic and escape from city life. Handicrafts are sold in the main gateway and horseback rides are also available. A village inn Kolu Kõrts serves national dishes every day. Lots of events every weekend! How to get there? By bus no 21 from the Baltic Station, destination – Vabaõhumuuseumi. Or trolley-buses no 6,7,8 to “Zoo” bus stop, then a walk along seaside for 15 minutes.
Viron ulkomuseo sijaitsee maalauksellisessa 79 hehtaarin suuruisessa puistossa Koplinlahden rannalla. Puistossa on eri aikakausien ja alueiden maalaistaloja, tuuli- ja vesimyllyjä sekä paljon muuta. Museossa vietetään perinteisiä juhlapyhiä. Kyläkievarissa tarjoillaan virolaisia ruokia. Museossa voi ajaa hevosella. Pääportilla myydään käsitöitä. Paljon tapahtumia joka viikonloppuna! Ja kuinka sinne pääsee? Balti-Jaaman rautatieaemalta (ensimmäinen pysäkki) bussilla n:o 21 Ulkoilmamuseon pysäkille tai johdinbusseilla 6,7,8 Eläintarhan pysäkille (”Zoo”), josta on n. 15 minuutin kävelymatka rantaa pitkin. .

Permanent exhibition. The display begins with rarities like daguerreotypes, ambrotypes and ferrotypes. The visitor also gets an idea about the development of cameras and sees a studio and darkroom equipment from the early 20th century.

A branch of the Estonian History Museum. The new permanent exhibition is opened. This neo-gothic limestone building was erected on the bluff by the sea in 1874 as a summer palace for Adjutant General Orlov-Davydov.

Exhibiting the history of shipping and fishing in Estonia, with a unique collection of ships. The museum is housed in the Fat Margaret Tower, which was built from 1510-31.

New open air exposition is opened, audio­guide rental (5 languages), children’s playground etc.
Tervetuloa tutustumaan maailman suurimpaan säilyneeseen höyryjäänmurtajaan Suur Tõll, jolla oli tärkeä rooli Viron ja Suomen vapaussodissa ja tyypissään ainoana maailmassa säilyneeseen sukelluslaiva Lembituun, joka on Viron ja Baltian maiden ainoa säilynyt sotalaiva II maailmansotaa edeltäneestä ajasta.

Permanent exhibition: Collection of Medieval art, with altars from the 15th and 16th centuries and a collection of Baroque and Renaissance chandeliers. Most notable is a fragment of Bernt Notke’s 15th century masterpiece, the Dance Macabre. The Silver Chamber—silver treasures of the guilds, craft leagues, the Brotherhood of the Black Heads and the church.

The permanent exposition reflects developments in Estonia from 1940 to 1991, when Estonia was alternately occupied by the Soviet Union, Germany, and by the Soviet Union once more.

Tallinn City Museum
The main building of the museum is a typical medieval merchant house, with a history that stretches back to the 14th century. The collections are located on the upper floor, under the roof: the historical (china, leather, copper, household appliances), glass, textile, archaelogical and art collections, which are available to historians and experts.

Museon päärakennus on tyypillinen keskiaikainen kauppiastalo, jonka historia ulottuu 1300-luvulle. Rakennuksen ylimmässä kerroksessa sijaitsevat kulttuurihistoriallinen kokoelma (posliini-, nahka, kupari- ja kotitalousesineet jne.), lasi- ja tekstiilikokoelma, arkeologiset kokoelmat sekä ase- ja taidekokoelmat, jotka ovat tutkijoiden ja asiantuntijoiden käytettävissä.

Permanent exhibitions of Kumu consists of classic works of Estonian art from the 18th century until today. Additional changing exhibitions will display master pieces of Estonian art, as well as foreign art. The museum also has a shop, caf'e, restaurant etc. The Art Museum of Estonia has a collection of 55.135 pieces of art, the library and archive together maintain 4.497 items.
